WELCOME to Barong at Bestida Australia!

About Us

OUR STORY

Barong and Bestida Australia brings the best of both traditional and reimagined contemporary Filipino statement pieces to the Asia Pacific region. As a homegrown and proudly Filipina-owned brand, we cater the needs of Filipinos who want to showcase their heritage with iconic garments that encapsulate the depth of Philippine history and culture.

The challenging search for the traditional Filipiniana abroad ignited the launch of this patriotic niche in the fashion market. Vanessa Mordeno, the one-woman team behind Barong and Bestida Australia, envisioned herself to proudly wear a Filipiniana to her Australian citizenship ceremony. After working hard sourcing local fabric and materials from the Philippines, she successfully created an opportunity not only for herself but most importantly for other Filipinos abroad to wear the traditional Filipino garments as it should be shared to the world.

The wide array of Filipino apparels that we offer are made of the finest fabrics from local materials such as  piña jusi, abaca, and the like which are all curated by local weavers and indigenous Filipinos from different provinces. Expect the highest quality, comfort, and style at a reasonable price. Each piece is styled with versatility in contrast to the traditional notion that barongs and filipinianas are only meant to be worn during formal events.

Celebrate your Filipino pride everyday with our simple yet elegant, and modern yet timeless barongs and bestidas fit for all ages and for all occasions.
